Designed for composition books of 6th grade ELA students to keep track of language arts concepts and take notes with them.

Tactile Brain Training

This student is using tactile skills to markup a multisyllable word.  This is an Orton Gillingham tactic that helps students navigate the pronunciation of unfamiliar words.

This student was practicing his knowledge of the H brothers - sh,th,ch,wh - and demonstration is ability to identify pictures of words with those phonemes (sounds).

A Shorty-Short Story Phoneme Focus

 As a supplement she is using Scholastic's Banish Boring Words while relying on the word lists of the last 3 phonemes learned, plus her red words.  Students have firsthand support from the detailed graphic organizer.  Grading rubric reflects each element of essay production.
